About the Role
The General Labor Clerk provides warehouse support in a variety of areas. This may include moving boxes, cleaning up warehouse areas, completing Value Added Services (VAS), and other miscellaneous support requests based on daily needs.
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Shift Times
- Monday – Friday | 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Overtime may be assigned/required based on business needs
Key Responsibilities
- Count, fold, remove product from cartons, and label items according to vendor requirements
- Perform basic computer tasks and work within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Support other departments when workload is light
- Shrink wrap, palletize shipments, and maintain shipment integrity
- Identify/call out product errors or issues
- Move boxes to/from staging areas using carts, hand trucks, and manual pallet jacks
- Assemble boxes and label boxes for shipment
- Load, unload, and sort product as needed
- Assist with general projects (re-packaging, building/assembling cardboard displays, etc.)
- Perform VAS tasks such as price ticketing, labeling, bagging, and other handling per customer specifications
- Hand stack pallets when loading/off-loading product from containers
- Maintain safety standards and report concerns to a supervisor
- General warehouse cleanup (sweeping, mopping, organizing racks, disposing of cardboard/trash as needed)
- May assist with training new associates on basic job functions
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned
Key Requirements
- 1–2 years of warehouse experience
- 1–2 years of experience operating equipment
- Forklift certified (or willingness to become certified on different types of lifts)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
- Basic reading and math skills (including working with numbers, measurement, and money)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (multi-tasking required)
- Reliable, punctual, quality-focused, and able to follow directions
- Ability to stand/sit/stand for 8+ hours, with repetitive motions (bending, stooping, pushing, pulling)
- Ability to lift and move product (up to 35 lbs regularly; may lift up to 50 lbs as needed)
- Ability to use basic computer devices and handheld scanning units
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Work is active and may require standing for long periods, frequent movement throughout the warehouse, pushing/pulling carts, bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching, and lifting/moving product. The environment can be noisy (forklift traffic) and may experience hot/cold temperature fluctuations due to outside weather.
