Warehouse Worker-Phillipsburg NJ
Purpose
Perform accurate movement of all products for both inbound and outbound freight. Ensure that the product is free from damage and assure that the quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of orders corresponds to customer specifications or other requirements.
Responsibilities
- Loading / unloading shipments
- Check, document, and report any damages and discrepancies against cargo manifest
- Confirm all cargo documents
- Generate a damage report for any damages
- Receive, count and sort shipments
- Stage and palletize shipments
- Measure and weigh shipments
- Manually shrink wrap pallets
- Accurately picking, pulling and packing distribution orders
- Make sure all cargo, security and safety rules are observed and followed
- Assist with general housekeeping of the warehouse
- Immediately inform management of service failures or problems that need to be addressed with client directly
- Other assignments given by Lead or Manager depending on the needs of the department, your performance and capabilities
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of recent warehouse experience with knowledge of operating forklifts is preferred
- Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced, non-climate controlled environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be a team player
- Must have excellent (written/verbal) communication skills in English
- Must be able to work safely with the tools and equipment required
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Multi-tasking / Organizational skills
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays as necessary
- Must be able to work overtime
